What it shows
Choose any dates, or This month, This quarter or This year. The ledger runs from the opening balance, through rent received, holding deposits kept for landlords, other money received, fees earned on issued statements (VAT included), expenses and payouts to landlords, to the closing balance held for landlords and the client bank balance it should come to. Held for each landlord gives each one’s money received, fees and expenses, paid out and balance held.
A figure below zero
A landlord held below zero means more was paid out for them than came in for them, and another client’s money may have covered it. Find the cause in Reconcile client account, which shows each landlord’s ledger.
Always live
It is worked out from the records each time it opens, so a fresh PDF is ready whenever your scheme asks: Download PDF takes the dates chosen. Owners, admins and managers find it under Client money; it was the CMP report in the menu until 4 November 2026.
What it is not
It adds up what is recorded; it is not a check against the bank. That check is Reconcile client account, which keeps the report for the month beside each reconciliation it saves. Tenancy deposits held in the client account under an insured scheme are not in the report’s bank figure: add them there.
