Most references complete within 1 to 3 working days once the applicant has filled in their form. Speed depends on how quickly the applicant responds and how fast their employer or previous landlord replies. You are emailed the moment it is ready.
A full reference covers identity, a credit-backed affordability assessment against the rent, employment and income, and a previous-landlord reference where available. It is run through a regulated UK credit reference agency, so it is far more than a self-declared form.
Yes. A credit-only check is cheaper, but because it needs the applicant’s date of birth, address history and explicit consent it is only available inside a LetCompliance account, where that data can be captured securely. The public order form offers the full and guarantor references, where the applicant supplies their own details directly.
No. You can order a one-off reference here with no account and no subscription. If you manage more than the odd let, a LetCompliance account adds the credit-only check, keeps every reference against the tenancy, and runs rent, compliance and tax in one place.
Yes. Payment is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 provider, so we never see or store your card details. We only start the reference once your payment is confirmed.
