Cookie policy
The cookies LetCompliance uses and why — strictly necessary ones are always on; analytics and marketing cookies are optional and off until you opt in.

1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep you signed in, and to remember preferences. This policy explains the cookies LetCompliance uses and why. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. Your Cookie Choices
On your first visit we show a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, as the site cannot work without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are OFF by default and are only set if you turn them on. You can "Accept all", "Reject all", or "Manage" to choose category by category, and rejecting non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them. You can change your choice at any time (see Section 5).
3. Cookies We Use
- Sign-in & session (strictly necessary): set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you securely logged in. Without these you cannot use the app.
- Security (strictly necessary): protect against cross-site request forgery and keep your session safe.
- HMRC connection (strictly necessary, when used): a device-identifier cookie set only if you connect to HMRC for Making Tax Digital, to meet HMRC’s mandatory anti-fraud requirements.
- Payments (strictly necessary, on payment pages): Stripe sets its own cookies to detect and prevent payment fraud.
- Analytics (optional, off by default): Microsoft Clarity, to understand anonymous usage and improve the product and our guides. Only set if you opt in.
- Marketing (optional, off by default): Google, to measure how well our ads perform. Only set if you opt in; left off, no marketing cookies are set.
- Preferences (functional): remember choices such as your theme, where applicable.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties: Stripe (payment-fraud prevention, strictly necessary), Microsoft Clarity (analytics, only with your consent) and Google (advertising measurement, only with your consent). We do not sell your data, and analytics or marketing cookies are never set unless you opt in via the banner.
5. Changing or Withdrawing Consent
You can change your mind at any time. Clearing this site’s cookies in your browser brings the consent banner back so you can choose again. Withdrawing consent stops the relevant non-essential cookies from being set going forward.
6. Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to log in or use core parts of the Service. Most browsers let you clear cookies and set preferences per site under their privacy or security settings.
7. Changes & Contact
We will update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest version. For any questions about cookies or your data, contact us at letcomplianceuk@gmail.com.
