Do I have to add a property before I can use LetCompliance?

No. You can finish signing up without entering a property, and add one later from Properties. The setup wizard asks for a first property because most people want the compliance score straight away, but every step after your name can be left for another day.

What the wizard actually asks for

Setup runs in four short steps: who you are, a little about how you let, your first property, and your first tenant. Only the first is needed to have an account.

If you are signing up to look before you commit, skip ahead. An empty account still opens the dashboard, the document builders and the free tools, and nothing you skip is lost: each step exists as a normal screen inside the product.

Adding a property later

Open Properties from the left menu and choose Add property. You need the address, town and postcode. Everything else, certificates, rooms, rent, tenants, can be filled in whenever the paperwork is in front of you.

Why we ask early anyway

The 0 to 100 compliance score is calculated per property, so an account with no property has nothing to score. If you want to see what the product is for in one screen, adding one address is the fastest way to get there.

If you have more than a handful, do not type them one at a time. Import them from a spreadsheet instead.
