Can one insurance policy cover several properties?

Yes. Add the policy on one property under Insurance, then answer Does this policy also cover other properties? and tick them. It is recorded once, every covered property shows it, and you get one renewal reminder instead of one for each.

Adding a policy

Open a property and go to Insurance. Choose the type (buildings, contents, rent guarantee, liability or other) and add the insurer, the policy number, the cover, the yearly premium, and the start and renewal dates.

A block policy

Answer Does this policy also cover other properties? and tick each one. The policy is stored once, and each covered property shows it with a note that it is one policy across several properties. The premium shown is for the whole policy, not one property’s share of it.

Renewal reminders

You are reminded 90, 30 and 7 days before the renewal date. For a block policy the reminder comes once and names every property it covers, rather than one reminder per property for something that renews once.

If a property leaves your account

The policy keeps its reminders while any property it covers is still in your account.
