How do I log one job that covered several properties?

Log the repair on one property and answer Did the same job cover other properties? Tick the others, then say whether it was one invoice for the lot or that price per property. Each property gets its own record and its share of the cost, worked out to the penny.

Where to do it

Open one of the properties and log the job in its repair log as normal: what was done, the contractor, the date and the cost. Then answer Did the same job cover other properties? and tick each one it covered.

One invoice or a price each

  • One invoice for the lot: the total is divided between the properties, and where it does not divide exactly the pennies are shared out so the parts still add up to the invoice
  • That price per property: every property carries the full amount

Before you save, the form says what each property will be charged.

What each property gets

Its own record, with its own photographs and its own share of the cost, so each property’s history is complete on its own page. Correcting one record later never changes the others, so fixing a typo does not create five more jobs.

Into Finance

A completed repair with a cost can go into Finance as you log it, and for a new repair that is ticked already, so the cost counts towards your tax figures. If a matching cost is already in Finance, you are asked about it rather than having it counted twice.

Recurring services

A service that repeats across several properties works the same way from planned maintenance, and each property is ticked off separately when its visit is done.
