Can I check my insurer on the FCA register?

Yes. Add the firm’s FRN to a policy under Insurance, on the property’s Compliance tab, and its name and status on the FCA register show with the day they were read. It is asked again every month, and a change of status shows in the bell. Every plan, in your own account and in an agency workspace.

Adding the FRN

The FRN, the Firm Reference Number, is on the policy documents. On the property’s Compliance tab, find the policy under Insurance, type the FRN and press Check. The firm’s name, FRN and status come from the public register, with a link to it. Anyone who can change the property can add, check again or remove the FRN; anyone who can see the policy sees the answer.

An agency’s own cover

On Agency compliance, the agency’s professional indemnity insurer has the same check, for the agency’s owner and admins.

Every month

Each FRN is asked again once its check is a month old, and a status that has changed shows in the bell.

What it is, and what it is not

It is the register’s record on the day it was read, not a recommendation of the firm. The check also links to the FCA’s Warning List of unauthorised firms, which lists clone firms: copies of genuine firms.
