How do I forward bills to LetCompliance by email?

Make your private bills address on Finance, under Receipts, then forward a bill to it with its PDF or photo attached. It is read and waits as a draft until you confirm it, so nothing counts in your figures before you do.

Making the address

On Finance, open Receipts and press Create my bills address. The address is made for your account alone; press Copy to take it. It comes with the 3-day trial and every paid plan, for your own account, not for an agency workspace.

Who can send to it

Mail is filed from your login email and from up to 10 addresses you add on the card. Mail from any other address is not filed, and the card lists it with Accept bills from this address. The sender’s email provider must also confirm the email came from that address, because anyone can type a From line, so a bill can be refused for that reason too.

A forwarding rule in Gmail or Outlook

A forwarding rule keeps the supplier as the sender, so add the supplier’s address to the list as well. When you set up forwarding in Gmail, Gmail sends a code to your bills address to confirm it, and the card shows that code for you to enter in Gmail’s forwarding settings.

What is read

PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP files attached to the email, up to 10 MB each and 5 an email. Images under 15 KB, such as logos, are skipped. Each address takes up to 30 emails an hour and 200 a day. A bill written in the body of the email, or behind a link to download it, is not read: forward one with the bill attached.

A draft until you confirm it

Each bill is read for the supplier, the amount, the date and the category, and waits on the Receipts tab under Forwarded bills as a draft. It counts nowhere, not in your Finance totals and not in your tax figures, until you confirm it. A bill that may already be in Finance, or was not read clearly, is confirmed only after you open it.

Changing the address

Change address makes a new one, and the old address stops at once: bills sent to it are not filed. Update any forwarding rule to the new address.

When something was not filed

The card shows how many bills were filed in the last 30 days, and for each email that was not, why: for example, an address not on your list, no PDF or photo attached, or more emails than an hour or a day takes.

Where this lives
