Step 1: take your records out of Hammock
Hammock’s help centre explains how to export the categorised transactions from your tax statement as a CSV (checked 6 October 2026). Download it for the current tax year and the last one, and keep it with your records.
Step 2: bring the portfolio into LetCompliance
Open Properties, choose Import and upload a spreadsheet saved as CSV. One row per tenant, or per room for an HMO, with the address, town and postcode; add rent, deposit, certificate dates, your ownership share and mortgage details if you have them. Certificates can be dropped in as a batch, with the dates read from each file.
Step 3: this tax year’s money
Import your bank statements as CSV. Each line is matched to a rent charge or an existing entry, or becomes a new one, and nothing is recorded until you confirm it. Receipts can be photographed and read for you.
Step 4: Making Tax Digital
Each quarterly update restates the whole tax year so far, so the first one you send from LetCompliance must include everything since 6 April, not only the latest three months. Once the year is in, connect your HMRC account and send from the MTD page.
What does not come across
Your Hammock bank feed and its categorisation rules stay in Hammock. LetCompliance matches statements you upload rather than reading a live feed.
