What does Direct Debit rent collection cost in LetCompliance?

LetCompliance takes no commission: the rent goes into your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its own Direct Debit fee, which is capped, and LetCompliance records it as an expense next to the rent. Direct Debit comes with every plan from Single, £7.99 a month, and the trial.

Who charges what

  • LetCompliance: nothing on the rent. Collection comes with your plan, from Single at £7.99 a month
  • Stripe: its own Bacs Direct Debit fee on each payment, capped, which Stripe sets and publishes on stripe.com/gb/pricing
  • Your tenant: nothing. They confirm the mandate from a link, with no account to create

Why the rent never passes through us

The payment goes from the tenant’s bank to your own Stripe account and on to your bank. LetCompliance never holds it, which is also why there is no commission to take.

Direct Debit or a card

LetCompliance takes 0% commission on rent. It goes straight to your own bank account and never passes through LetCompliance. Stripe charges its own processing fee for Direct Debit, which Stripe sets and can change; their current rates are on stripe.com/gb/pricing.

What happens to each payment

Every collection posts against the tenancy’s rent ledger and into Finance, and Stripe’s fee is logged as an expense on its own line, so your tax figures carry it without retyping. Payments that arrive another way can be recorded against the same tenancy.

Who it is for

Direct Debit collection is for landlords collecting into their own account. It is not available inside an agency workspace, where client money is handled differently.
